A Message from Pastor Tim

Thanks for stopping by to visit us here at Shepherd of the Grove! We welcome your visit on the web and pray that you would stop by to introduce yourself to us in person!
I was thinking about statements that define who we are or what we feel. I am a father, I love you. These are simple statements that tell someone else about us or how we feel about someone. Is there THE defining statement of our lives? Jesus and his disciples were together and He asked them who people said He was. The answers were John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. Interesting responses, because all of those mentioned were dead! He then moves the conversation to them directly. Who do you say I am. Peter was given an amazing gift by God. Peter said, by God's grace, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." THE defining statement of his life! Not just his life, but ours too. This is the statement that defines us. It is our Confession. We know that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. He has redeemed us by His blood. He has called us to live in this Confession. He has built His church on this Confession. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved. Only Jesus Christ. Faith in Him, in this Confession, is the defining statement of your life! God Bless!
